Chalet Le Moulin A wonderful newly completed chalet errected on the walls of an old water mill, situated next to the melting water river Torrent de Gers in the outskirts of the old village Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval in an altitude of about 800 m. above sea level.

Chalet description 3 stories including basement. One large living and dining room with open fire place, 4 bedrooms + one family room with a sofa bed, 2 bathrooms, 1 large kitchen, large ski- and facility room, washing room with washing maschine and tumble dryer and finally a new sauna room with douche. Total about 275 m2. The chalet accomodates easily 11 sleeping adults and is ideally suited for 2-3 families (6 adults + 4-5 children). Ample outside parking space is avilable.

Local alpine ski areas From Sixt you can take the skib bus down to new ski lift in Samoens (7 KM away) which brings you up to the Flaine ski area in the Grand Massif. From the Flaine ski area you can ski right down to the chalet via a 14 km long slope. If you want a little more quiet day at the slopes you can spend the day in the local Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval ski area which is right outside the chalet within walking distance. You can actually ski right down to the chalet also from the local ski area.

Ski areas within 30. min. You can go to Les Gets for access to Morzine and Avoriaz ski areas or to the Chamonix Valley for access to St Gervais, Megeve, Les Contamine, Chamonix, etc.

Cross country skiing The cross country ski path passes right outside the chalet.

Summer activities Hiking - There are numerous and exciting possibilities for hiking - several paths take you directly into the Natural Reserve from outside the chalet - we recommend a hike to Lac De Gers where you can enjoy and very good lunch on the border of the lake. Other recommended tours are a hike to Sales, via Cascade du Rouget or a trip to Genarion. By car or bike you must go to Cirque du Fer a Cheval for a fantastic walk to Fond de la Combe. All trips are about 4 hours aller-retur. Be sure to bring some good walking boots. There are plenty other possibilities. Hiking maps are available in the office de Turism in Sixt.

Tennis - courts can be rentet in Samoens

Swimming - Samoens offer a very nice swimming pool for public use

River Rafting - is a must during summertime. Can be booked right in Sixt center next to the post office.

For more daring turist there are other activities like paragliding, rapelling, via ferata ect.

How to get there ? Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval is located one hours drive South East of Geneve. From our home in Fredericia, DK it is about 1400 KM with a driving time of about 12-13 hours.

Check in/out etc Bed linned, towels etc are available in the chalet, however, you have to wash these before departure and replace as when you came. Alternatively you can bring your own bed linned which saves you time to wash and tumble dry upon departure. Check-in is Saturday after 14:00 hours and check-out is Saturday 12:00 hours. Cleaning is not included. You have to clean the chalet before departure. Owner will try to keep a stock of cleaning utensils available in the chalet, however in case of shortage occupants have to supply themselves.

House rules Occupants are responsible for all damage caused by themselves to the chalet or the interior during their stay. Please report any accidents to the owner. One small dog is allowed in the chalet per occupancy. Please refrain from smooking in the kitchen and  in the bed rooms and in general keep inside smooking to a minimum (Thank you).
